Biography:
Dr Edwin Naylor, AB. Middlebury College, Ph.D. Utah State University, M.P.H University of Pittsburgh. Board certified in Clinical Biochemical Genetics and Ph.D. Medical Genetics. Post-Doctoral fellowship with Robert Guthrie (1972-1974) and research associate with him (1974-1984). Research focused on development of newborn screening methodologies and biochemical genetics. University of Pittsburgh (1984-1994). Founded NeoGen Screening, laboratory screened 3.2 million newborns using tandem mass spectrometry and molecular genetics. Currently laboratory director of NCGM in North Carolina (molecular genetic analyses) and miQro Lab in Rhode Island (heavy metal screening). Interests are expansion of newborn screening to include heavy metal and next generation molecular newborn screening.
