With rising incidences of asthma, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, cystic fibrosis, and recurrent infections, pediatric pulmonology & respiratory disorders remain a cornerstone of pediatric subspecialties. Advancements in pulmonary function testing, imaging, and molecular diagnostics now allow for earlier and more accurate identification of respiratory conditions in children. Multimodal treatment approaches—ranging from inhaled medications and airway clearance techniques to biologics and gene therapies—are increasingly personalized. Environmental factors, air pollution, and indoor allergens are recognized as significant contributors to respiratory pathology in pediatric populations. Collaborative care models that involve pulmonologists, allergists, and primary care providers are essential to managing chronic respiratory conditions effectively. Promoting lung health from infancy through adolescence requires education, prevention strategies, and systemic improvements in public health policy and access to specialized care.
