Biography:
Dr. W.A.S. Saroja Weerakoon is a Grade I Senior Lecturer in Ayurveda Pediatrics at the Faculty of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. She also serves as an Ayurvedic Consultant Pediatrician at the National Ayurveda Hospital, Colombo, Sri Lanka. Dr. Weerakoon completed her Master’s Degree in Ayurveda Pediatrics at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and obtained her PhD from the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayawardenepura, Sri Lanka As both a clinician and academic researcher, she is actively engaged in strengthening research competence in Ayurveda and the Traditional Medical System in Sri Lanka. Her scholarly contributions include publications in indexed, peer-reviewed journals, and she has authored several academic books in the field of Ayurveda and pediatric health. Her primary research interests focus on the bioactivities of Indigenous medicines and pediatric-related disorders, including Cerebral Palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Muscular Dystrophies.
