Neonatal Otorhinolaryngology and Dentistry

Otorhinolaryngology, often known as otolaryngology – head and neck surgery (ORL–H&N or OHNS), or ENT, is a surgical specialist of medicine that deals with the surgical and medical care of head and neck diseases. Otorhinolaryngologists, otolaryngologists, head and neck surgeons, or ENT surgeons or physicians are doctors who specialise in this field. For illnesses affecting the ear, nose, throat, base of the skull, head, and neck, patients seek care from an otorhinolaryngologist. Congenital sensorineural hearing loss screening in newborns meets all of the criteria for universal screening. For starters, it's fairly common; congenital bilateral permanent hearing loss affects about 1 to 5 out of every 1000 live newborns.

Teeth that are present at birth are referred to as "natal teeth," whereas teeth that erupt within the first month of life are referred to as "neonatal teeth." Many myths surround the premature emergence of a tooth at the time of birth or too early. They are also accompanied by a variety of issues that the mother and infant encounter as a result of the natal tooth/teeth, such as pain when nursing and unwillingness to eat. Teeth that emerge in the first 30 days after birth are known as neonatal teeth. Teeth usually start to erupt at the age of six months.
